You do not need to apply for planning permission as long as your project falls into the following current criteria:

  • The proposed single storey extension should not exceed the rear wall of the original house by more than 8 metres if you have a detached home and 6 metres for other types of homes.
  • If you have a double story extension this should not exceed three metres.
