Brief: Single storey rear extension to a mid-terrace house creating a large kitchen-diner space and utility room with skylights and a bi-folding door.
Timescale: 12 weeks
When Matt hired Simply Extend to create more space in his East Sheen home, the result was a larger kitchen and dining area with a separate utility room. The single storey rear home extension utilised several popular features to create a light, airy space that flaunts a stunning connection to the garden.
The London home extension is only one storey high so it makes use of several skylights to allow natural light to pour in. This is complemented by the bi-folding door which is combined with a window above to create a glass wall effect. This not only makes the space beautifully bright, but connects the room with the garden beyond for true indoor-outdoor living as the doors open fully. They are, however, also insulated to keep the room warm in winter too.
Inside, we fitted a stylish kitchen with integrated appliances, a breakfast bar and gorgeous lighting with on-trend copper shades. Modern barstools finish the look, while a contemporary sofa creates a relaxing living area that takes advantage of the garden view.
