Brief: Side Return Extension Richmond. Single storey side return extension creating a larger kitchen and dining area complete with seamless access to the garden.
Tom’s Richmond home was desperate for more living space but did not have a lot of room to extend at the rear. Simply Extend were able to design and build a side return extension that allowed the room needed to create a much larger kitchen and dining area that would accommodate a growing family – while remaining much more affordable and stress-free than moving house.
The light, airy space in this South West London home extension was ensured through the use of skylights and large bi-folding doors, which also create a seamless link with the garden for highly desirable indoor-outdoor living. The contemporary kitchen, meanwhile, makes clever use of hidden storage, mirrored tiles and integrated appliances to create the impression of even more space.
A mixture of lighting styles means that light can be focused where it’s needed: ceiling spots for general lighting, low ceiling lights over the island for more focused mood-lighting when dining and entertaining, and directional spots over the lounge area.
