Brief: Side Return Extension Twickenham. To design and build a side return kitchen opening the rear of the property up and reconfiguring the internal walls to create more space. We were also commissioned to landscape the rear of the property.

Home extensions in London can dramatically improve the interior and exterior of a property and our Sherland Road project is no exception. This large, side return kitchen extension opened up the rear of the property to the decked garden and also provided the homeowners with a large, statement kitchen.
With a number of covered and open storage solutions, plus brand new appliances the kitchen is as practical as could be hoped for; but it’s also a treat for the eyes. This is particularly true of a long breakfast bar which runs down the centre of the room.
Everybody knows that the kitchen is the real heart of the home and it’s the place that guests seem to congregate at parties. Where better to kick back and relax with friends than this open plan contemporary kitchen, leading directly to the garden?
Of course, in summer months, the back door doesn’t simply open, it folds away to create a huge open portal to the garden.
It’s a garden that segues beautifully into the property, with matching decking and features. That’s because as part of our project we also landscaped the entire garden; modernising the space and bringing it in line with the house.
For a family with small children, access to the garden, sunlight and fresh air is a massive bonus. Now, during warmer weather the family can open their home to the great outdoors and let the kids come and go as they please.
