On average, a rear extension can take anywhere from 10-14 weeks to construct, not including the design phase. If your extension falls outside of permitted development regulations, it can take up to 8 weeks to receive planning permission from the local council. You will also need to ensure you have any Party Wall Agreements with your neighbours who you share party walls with, sometimes requiring a Party Wall Surveyor to mediate.
